Mostar — Stari Most & Old Town

Bosnian food is cheap, hearty, and distinctive. You’ll mostly eat čevapi, burek, grilled meats and drink coffee slowly. Most small places are cash only.

The icon. Two locations in Baščaršija, always busy. Order 10 pieces with somun bread and kajmak.

Željo’s main rival. Locals argue endlessly about which is better — try both.

Smaller, very good, quieter than the big two. Great fallback if Željo has a queue.

🥪 Burek & pies
Buregdžinica Bosna$ · cash
Hole-in-the-wall legend. Burek (meat), sirnica (cheese), zeljanica (spinach), krompiruša (potato). Ask by weight.

Baked under traditional sač iron bell. Crispier, more rustic take.
